In 1999, I became a legal wedding officiant through the Universal Life Church, as a result of doing an online search for my own wedding officiant (I ended up using my Dad, and was very pleased with my choice). I later had the pleasure of presiding over a ceremony in Lexington, Kentucky in 2001, for my sweet and generous friends Bill and Shannon. They followed up their beautiful wedding with a kick-ass reception, where I proceeded to get very drunk and lurch around the dance floor with the rest of the remaining party. I vaguely remember eating pizza from room service with my ex at like, 3 in the morning. Hey, at least we weren't fighting. Don't you just love my fakey pageant-girl smile?
